Our Mission: Greening Chicago's Communities
To cultivate and steward beautiful and accessible native plant sanctuaries in Chicago– especially in disinvested BIPOC communities– to restore a sense of place, promote healing, and empower residents and organizations to become stewards of their natural environment.
Conservation in Chicago
Open green spaces in urban areas are collectively as important as state and national conservation areas, which are always threatened by development and resource extraction.
Fostering equity in access to green spaces
Studies on green spaces are linked to healing and an increased sense of belonging and peace. We want to ensure that these amenities are provided to Chicago communities, especially those that live in economically disconnected and disinvested neighborhoods.
